THE man who slaughtered over 80 teenagers on a Norwegian island and killed at least seven others with a bomb in central Oslo will tell a court today that the atrocity was “cruel but necessary.”

Anders Breivik, 32, a Christian fundamentalist with far-right, anti-Islamic views, was co-operating with police and was keen to explain his actions in court, his lawyer Geir Lippestad said yesterday.
